Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program

Canada Skilled worker program is a program that can help immigrants to seek work authorization in the country. The program is managed under the Canada Express Entry Selection system through which applicants create an Online Express Entry Profile to initiate their PR application.
The Point System is used to draw selection in which the applicants should score at least 67 Points, and the occupation should be listed in the Skilled Occupation list issued by Canada.
Eligibility criteria for Canada federal skilled worker applications
Once you have successfully submitted your application form, it will be assessed on eligibility bars as per the criteria described below –
At least one year regular and paid experience in the applied occupation for the last ten years
Skill type O, A and B as per the NOC of Canada
Minimum English Language capability
Work Experience
Once the eligibility criteria are fulfilled, the work experience is considered. The minimum requirement to immigrate to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker program is
- Your work should be paid and regular, which is 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week). This can be met in different ways:
- Full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1-year full time (1,560 hours).
- Equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1-year full time (1,560 hours).
- Full-time at more than one job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job = 1-year full time (1,560 hours).
- Your work experience should be at least one year in the same profile in the last ten years .
Language Ability
- You need to have a minimum score of 67 in the FSW. The minimum score in the language skill is mandatory for the Cinda FSW program.
- The language tests remain valid for two years after the date of the test result. The result should be valid when you apply for permanent residence.
Education
- You must have a degree or certificate from a secondary institution (high school) or a post-secondary institution in Canada.
- If you completed education from outside Canada, you should provide credentials equivalent to the secondary institution (high school) or post-secondary institution. Educational Credentials Assessment from an approved agency that authorizes that the credentials are needed.
Proof of Funds
The applicants must establish stable monetary standing to be able to support family and themselves on arrival in Canada.
Permanent Residence Fee
If the FSW is granted, then the Permanent Residence Fee is to be paid as you receive the PR card from the authority. It also needs medical examination, police clearance, and language test pass.
